Motorcycle riding has therapeutic physical and mental benefits. Riding a motorcycle involves the entire body, which results in better physical and mental coordination and enhanced reflexes. The use of the right hand to control the throttle, the left hand to use the clutch, the right foot to apply the brake, and the left foot to change gears require a high level of coordination. In addition, spatial awareness and recognition of road hazards enhance reflexes.

A study published in Brain Research, a journal dedicated to publishing articles in neuroscience, said that motorcycle riding decreases riders’ stress levels by as much as 25 percent. This conclusion supports the claims of many motorcycle riders who experience peace and calmness while riding. Excitement also causes the brain to release chemicals such as adrenaline, dopamine, endorphin, oxytocin, and serotonin, making motorcycle riders experience feelings of happiness.
